Yu-shun is a PhD student in the IMPRS-SC program. His neuroscience story has been shaped by his masterโs work on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), where he investigated the role of NRIP in NMJ formation and its potential link to ALS pathogenesis under the guidance of Dr. Show-Li Chen and Dr. Li-Kai Tsai at National Taiwan University. Building on this experience, Yu-shun joined the lab of Dr. Wan-Chen Lin, focusing on the development of optogenetic tools for subcellular control of GABAA receptors at Academia Sinica. Now, Yu-shun is working on developing red-shifted sensors and integrating optogenetics to unravel the complexities of cognitive functions. Outside of the lab, Yu-shun enjoys photography, surfing, scuba diving, and mountain climbing. These activities provide a creative outlet and an opportunity to connect with nature.
