Prior to joining the Tian lab, Santiago gained research experience at Baylor College of Medicine beginning in 2021 followed by the Wang lab at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience, resulting in publications related to fibrolast activation in both pulmonary and skin fibrosis. Specializing in data collection and animal handling, Santiago is open to learning new skills as he helps researchers with a broad range of experiments and goals. He currently assists with individual projects and general lab maintenance. Outside the lab, he enjoys reading books and watching movies.
