Preston earned his B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia and his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Scripps Research Institute, where he developed a drug discovery platform for treating neurodevelopmental disorders. He is now a postdoctoral scholar in the Tian Lab, focused on developing therapeutics for neuropsychiatric diseases and building high-throughput workflows for optimizing biosensors and screening novel drug candidates. Outside the lab, he enjoys tennis, pickleball, fishing, and kayaking.
