I’m Nickie, a high school summer intern at the Tian Lab. I’m deeply passionate about neuroscience and fascinated by how the brain works; not just through electrical signals, but also through the complex role of neuromodulators. I’m especially interested in biosensor engineering and how these sensors can help us visualize serotonin or other neurotransmitter dynamics in vivo. This summer, I’m working on a project involving psychLight to better understand serotonin’s influence beyond traditional synaptic activity. Outside of the lab, I’m a dedicated dancer and enjoy reading in my free time. I'm excited to contribute to the lab’s work and explore the cutting edge of brain research.
