Mason Martin

Mason is an FAU PhD student in the Tian lab. Prior to joining, he graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. He then joined the Disney lab at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute as a postbac fellow, where he investigated chemical probing of the SARS-CoV-2 genome. He then joined the Tian lab, where he is developing a red-shifted glutamate sensor. He will then apply this sensor in collaboration with the Blakely lab to investigate glutamate dynamics between neurons and astrocytes in a diseased state. Outside of the lab, he enjoys gaming, exploring new music and exercising.
