Jingyu Cao is a PhD student at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience. She received her B.S. in Life Sciences from Fudan University, where she studied Parkinson’s disease in Dr. Boxun Lu’s lab. Her undergraduate work on human neuronal models and strategies to promote α-synuclein degradation sparked her interest in how dopamine shapes behavior, leading her to pursue systems neuroscience. Her current research explores how dopamine and noradrenaline from the locus coeruleus modulate neural circuits involved in goal-directed behavior.
